2021 Annual Honors Recital – unscheduled

The date for the Annual Honors Recital – is not yet scheduled due to COVID-19 uncertainty.  There will be a future assessment as to the feasibility of this event and notifications will be sent by SPTF email.

Venue:  Staller Center at Stony Brook University  is closed until further notice.

 Online Registration and fees deadline is to be announced.
Registration fees must be submitted to the Treasurer and postmarked by the Registration Deadline.  Complete mailing information can be found within the Honors Recital Information Document.

Questions regarding recital Registrations are to be directed to the president, Esther Chung Marks.

Questions regarding the recital program are to be directed to the Recital Coordinator, Melissa Lanfrit Hait.

Additional Honors Recital Information:
Teachers can submit max 2 students to be nominated to perform at Honors Recital.
Recital time request will be taken only in special circumstances. 2 students from same teacher will be performing in 2 separate recitals.

Award Ceremony for competition winners: 6:30pm (ALL 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners MUST be present)
SPTF competition 1st place winners: required to perform their winning pieces. Registration Fee, Time Limit, and Level requirements are waived for these students.
Time Limit: 10 minutes for 2 students per teacher, or 7 minutes for 1 student if only registering one.
Level: NYSSMA Level 3 and up only
Memorization REQUIRED!
Quality of the performance: Please only send very well prepared students with fluent memory, tempo, and good quality performances. Performing piece should be played generally up to standard tempo. Thank you!
Teachers: If you are registering students to this event, you will be asked to attend the event and plan to bring one drink and one dessert or appetizer type food in presentable plates as this is exciting celebratory event for all of our students. And also we will all share volunteering for the event. I will communicate with registered teachers at later time.

Long Island Expressway (east from New York City) to exit 62. Take Nicolls Road north towards
Stony Brook for 9 miles. Pass Suffolk Community College, Route 25 (Jericho Tpke.), and Route
347 (Nesconset Highway). After crossing Route 347 (the second major intersection), pass two
traffic lights. Go PAST the first Stony Brook entrance (South Campus entrance).

At the SECOND entrance (Main Campus/West Campus entrance), make a LEFT at the Stony
Brook sign. Follow signs to the Visitors’ Parking Garage to the left. Park in the garage and walk
diagonally across the Fine Arts Loop to Staller Center.
